Guide - FloorPowermoves - Headspin
Headspin
a. Introduction: Ever wonder what it fells like to be a spinning top? Ask a good head spinner, or learn it and experience the rush for yourself. Put your head on the floor and start spinning!
b. Difficulties: quite a dangerous move this is. Make sure u have good basic if you want to learn this move. 7 of 10.
c. Basic exercise: obviously a head stand!
d. How to do Headspin
i. Start off from a head stand. Your hand and head should be arranged in so that you are at absolute balance.
ii. Before we start spinning, lets try a few good headspin exercise
iii. Try to lift your hand; can you balance the head stand without your hand touching the floor? You should be able to, at least for 2 second.
iv. Can you move your leg freely while doing the hand stand? Try swinging and kicking it around to master the headstand balance.
v. Once you are able to do this, you may read on to learn the head spin. I am going to write this tutorial assuming your rotation is clockwise. If its not, read this tutorial by changing left to right. (eg: left leg to right leg)
vi. From a head stand, spilt your leg apart and lock them straight. The key to a good balanced headspind is in the leg. Make sure they are spread out at equal angle at all time.
vii. Twist your waist so that your left leg is facing the same as your face. Swing this leg around until your right leg is in the direction of your face.
viii. Once in this position, raise your hand and follow trough the momentum of your leg, your body should start to spin. (yay! I am headspinning)
ix. Now here is the a bit complicated part, once you lift your hand, you should spin your body so that you are chasing your left leg. Once your body is facing the same direction as your left leg again, put your hand back against the floor and swing your leg until your right leg is once again in the same direction of your body.
x. This is called the tap headspin, do this multiple time until you reached your maximum speed, then lift your hand off the floor and let the momentum and balance do the rest. Try to roll your body into a ball and drill the headspin as a finale! View the movie here: (link to video)
